Participants can experience minimally invasive surgical skills and facilities in Korean major centers and also take part in a hands-on animal lab exercise. Join and exchange your knowledge.

After closing application submission, the organizing committee will match you to an institute. If applicants converge toward a few institutes, you might be allocated to an institute you did not select. Educational Content Daejeon St. Mary’s Hospital is one of the hospitals famous for minimally invasive surgery in Korea. Prof. Lee’s team consists of three ultimate laparoscopic surgeons (prof. Lee, Choi, and Jeong) especially in the field of single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS). Prof. Lee has performed SPLS since the end of 2008. And till now, personally he has experienced over 4,300 cases for various disease entities, from appendectomy to total proctocolectomy. There is no specific limitation or contraindication in SPLS. And he has performed somewhat unique and aggressive clinical trial from March. 2009. It is the totally shifting to SPLS, there is no option for conventional multi-port laparoscopic surgery. There are only two options (open or SPLS) for surgical treatment modalities. Ultimatum for minimally invasiveness reaches to 5mm incision only appendectomy by using of pediatric laparoscopic instruments and 1.0cm incision only anterior resection for sigmoid colon cancer by adding of NOSE procedure. Last several years, he has been performing an absolutely and completely scar-less surgeries, one of these is a transanal laparoscopic pelvic and peritoneal surgery (TALPPS), the advanced form of surgery of Ta-TME for rectal cancer. And today, his standard and routine operation modality is Single-port laparoscopic SOLO surgery in almost of disease entities by using of camera-holder instead of human camera-assistant. So far, he has performed over 1,500 cases of SOLO surgery in various conditions. He is also interested in and has been performing NOTES for several years. >In Feb. 2017, he finally performed Transanal total proctocolectomy with IPAA for synchronous triple colorectal cancers without transabdominal assistance or incision. It was a absolutely scarless surgery. It is the world first and still the unique case in this condition.

Kyungpook National Unuversity Hosipital is located in Daegu, Korea. Daegu is a metropolitan city with a population of 2.5 million and a historic town that has inherited the glorious culture. So you can have diverse cultural experiences encompassing past and present of the city.
In KNUH, You can observe a variety of laparoscopic surgeries regarding HBP surgery such as cholecystectomy, hepatectomy and pancreatectomy including PPPD. KNUH is the only hospital performing laparoscopic donor hepatectomy in all the cities except Seoul metropolitan area. We have done more than 60 laparoscopic donor hepatectomy since 2016 and also have performed about 50 liver transplants every year.
